Itinerary

Day 1
7:00 AM: Start from Kandy.
9:30 AM: Arrive at Nippon Bridge.
9:30 AM – 10:00AM: Breakfast and warm-up.
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Kayak run downstream from Nippon Bridge to Ellekotaliya.
5:00 PM: End of kayaking session for the day.Overnight stay in Ellekotaliya.

Day 2:
Breakfast at campsite.Depart from Ellekotaliya at 7:00 AM.
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Kayaking downstream from Ellekotaliya to Dammennawa.
12:00 PM: Lunch break along the riverbank.Continue kayaking until reaching Dammennawa.Set up camp and enjoy the evening by the river.

Day 3:
Breakfast at campsite.Break camp and pack up gear.Depart from Dammennawa at 7:00 AM.

8:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Final stretch of kayaking from Dammennawa to Manampitiya.

12:00 PM: Lunch break along the riverbank.2:00 PM: End of kayaking journey at Manampitiya.Conclude the expedition and head back to Kandy.

 

What to bring

  • Light outdoor trousers: 2 pairs
  • Light outdoor shirts (long sleeves): 2
  • Swimwear or clothes for wash in
  • Personal toiletries and towel
  • Recommended: Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Footwear: Closed shoes with socks, sandals, or slippers
  • Mandatory: Insect/Mosquito repellent
  • Mandatory: Head torch
  • We’ll provide a sleeping bag
  • Optional: Hiking pole

  • Any necessary medication
  • Snacks: Consider chocolates for instant energy.
  • 3 litters of water bottles/ camelback. Consider bringing packs of Jeewani and Glucose

Additional Notes

“Recommended Attire:

 

  • Footwear: Closed shoes with socks, sandals, or slippers are advised. Please ensure shoes are adequately broken in beforehand to prevent shoe cuts.
  • Headwear: A cap or hat is recommended for sun protection.
  • Clothing: Light-coloured attire and sunglasses are suggested for sun exposure.
  • Optional Equipment: Consider a hiking pole for added support.

 

Additional Notes:

 

  • Preparing footwear in advance to prevent shoe cuts is highly recommended.
  • In humid conditions, underwear cuts are common. Consider wearing cycle shorts/tights for increased comfort due to anticipated perspiration during the journey.”
